* rapping* I got money in the bank, shorty something, something, something. *rapping*
OK, so my rapping skills are not that good. But my saving skills are the bomb. I got money in the bank.
It does feel real good to have almost $1,000 in the bank. This is the mini e-fund that will eventually become a giant of an e-fund.

I read through a lot of your blog this evening. You seem to be doing very well. It looks like you are doing things almost exactly in the same way as I am (trying to).
I've got just over twenty thousand dollars owing to that evil woman sallie mae. And my Credit Card debt is coming down every month. I've cut over 600 dollars per month in living expenses so far, and I'm always looking for more ways to cut more.
A lot of what I saved from all of my cuts is going to feed Sallie Mae. She's currently getting over 850 dollars per month. That should pay it all off in just over two years if I don't change my payments. But my CC's should be paid off in the spring time sometime, and then my car in about July or August. Then I intend to put every dime to Sallie Mae and lower the time it takes down to about January of '08. Of course things might not all go the way I plan. A whole year without any financial setbacks is a lot to ask, so I'm not really putting the timetable in stone. I'm just doing what I can each month and seeing where it goes.
My emergency fund is much smaller than yours right now, but I'm working on it. At the end of every pay period, everything left over in checking goes into savings. I'm at about two hundred dollars so far, and holding strong.
One thing I learned, however, is to make sure that you still live your life in the meantime, otherwise you will get burned out and either be miserable, or you will give up.
Take time to smell the roses sometimes, and all that.
Keep up the good work. I'm pulling for you.
Okay Tired It's
I got money in da bank, shawty what you thank.
You have to use ebonics with it :O)
ha ha ha.
Congrats on getting the E-fund up more. I never took out a student loan. Parents paid for all but one semester where I took out a personal loan because dad became a stingy bastard (he was trying to get back at my mom for leaving him). And of course I went to one of the most expensive schools in Ga. So I definetly know what having that kind of loan out there feels like. I hated that personal loan and paid as much as I could to get rid of it and I did before the end date. I was so excited. Keep it up. We're gonna make it out from under all this debt. Then you can tell Sallie Mae K.M.A.
D.C.
Just keep pounding out those micropays -- I'm siting here being so impressed, because my efund is at, like, 80 bucks. You're doing great!
Guys thank you all for the words of encouragement.
Jagular am hoping to for a year of no setbacks. I think with the accident, and the car being towed recently that is my year worth of setbacks. knock on wood.
D.C. LOL @ using ebonics. I heard the song yesterday and I thought he said shorty what you drink. Oh well am clueless. Cant wait to tell sallie K.M.R.A
3 things thank you again for the micropay idea. I have it set up automatically to go out at 30, and most times I try to change it to 40.
