I called the cable company and disconnected. I thought these were items I could not live without. However, with working two jobs I spend so much time outside as it is. The resulting savings is almost $100 per month. This is nothing to sneeze at.
I am still looking at 'fixed' expenses to see what else I can eliminate or lower.

I ain't mad atcha. Every little bit helps!
I would love to get rid of cable tv, but I think my roommates would mutiny.
High speed internet gone? Will you still be able to use dial up or leech off of someone else?
Good on you!! We don't have cable tv because we hardly even watch tv anyway but high speed internet we can't live without... no way!!
Bronx chica..a must have especially when tv go digital very soon. Also I know I can't live without either of them. Congrats on saving more money!
Have you tried using online TV services? I use this one called blinkx (http://tv.blinkx.com/) and I'm able find all the shows that I'd usually watch on TV. Beats paying $150 a month for cable, that's for sure.
I just don't know that I could do it. I have a 3 year old that loves his tv. Kudos to you.
