All the bills for this month are paid, and I have 60 bucks in the checking account, yippeeee weekly paycheck.
I got more hours at the part-time gig....am loving the money.
I am going through my financial files so I can simplify things. I may close my checking and savings account at the credit union since they are not being used. I will have to think about it some more.

Simplifying is a great idea! I got rid of my extra checking account because I never used it and it didn't make any interest, while the one I kept does. I am also closing my credit cards as they are paid off. So far, Saks and Neiman Marcus are gone; one of my Visa cards should be paid off within a month or so, and it will be gone, too. Then just three more to go!
I would not close the accounts. It could potentially hurt your credit score. Pay them off, keep them open, but do not use them. Even if you have to try the freezing them idea. Past of your credit score is made up of the age of your accounts, so at least keep the major cards open.
I'm so proud. *sniff*
:-)
Well Done, I'm going through the same process at the moment I'm trying to cut down the number of accounts I have open. Settling the debt should help improve you credit score, but you need to watch that you don't have to much credit available to you or it can affect it to.
Thanks Single Ma, you know I wanna be like you when I grow up.
Weegiejen am closing a checking and savings accounts. My credit cards am paying and leaving them open.
