Bank of America technology is crap

Last night the online system would not work. Then I tried the phone system and that would not work either. I was not able to access my account at all. That to me is unacceptable.

I am done dealing with Bank of America...period. Am on the phone now with them to close my accounts.

**Edit**
Looks like I will be staying with BOA 'for now' afterall. They have one more chance to fvck up. See my comments on the comment page.

We had a heck of a time with them, too. They kept charging us late fees even when we would walk into their branch and pay. We ended up having to call them each month and they would gladly reverse them. We closed all our accounts with them.

Whaaaaaaaat? I've had BofA for almost 10 years and never had a MAJOR problem. All other were resolved immediately and to my satisfaction. I check my accts multiple times a day so this is really surprising.

But hey, when it comes to your money, don't mess around. If they're not making you happy, move it to a bank who will.

I've been using BofA for over ten years and I've never had any real problems with them. One time the teller transposed two digits on my account number when I was depositing a check, and the manager came in on a Sunday to fix the problem.
I'm sorry to hear that you have had problems with them.
I suppose it can make a difference which branch you are using though.

I guess the corollary is "If it's broke, then fix it". Sorry to hear about your trouble with B of A. I was about to open an account with them, now I'm feeling a little cautious. Trouble is the last thing I need.

I'm really sorry to hear about the problems. As first a customer and now an employee, I've had great experiences with the bank, but that doesn't help much when you're the one having frustrations. Good luck with the financial journey, though -- I know a lot of people who could learn from you.

Update on BOA. The first time I called in the customer rep was not the most helpful. This makes it worse when I cannot get my transactions done, and you are being a smart ass. NOOOOOO

So what did I do, I hung up on 'duh becky' and called right back. Got a very nice person on the phone the next time who understood my issues. He was able to look and see how many times I have had to call with the same damn problems with the transfers. My phone password was screwed up.

So he stayed on the phone, fixed all the problems and ensured me that it will all be cleared up. I even hung up and tried it out and everything looks ok. For now it looks like I will be staying with BOA. I really did not want to leave since the ATMS are all over.

And 'duh becky' next time a customer calls in just listen first, talk later.

BKDiva I have a credit union checking account. But the CU is upstate NY, and am in NYC not convenient at all.

I'm with Wachovia and love them. I've never had a problem with them (knock on wood).

MMMhmm, BofA is on my last nerve. They are bout to get a phone call from me cause I opened a new account with them and they claimed that I should have used the same debit card I had for an account I closed over 3 years ago!! And then never sent me the replacement like they claimed they would.

by the way.. although your CU is upstate, check to see if they participate in shared branching.. you could do your business with your CU at a local credit union that also participates in shared branching. My family in NY have their a/c's here at my job and do transactions like they were here at local CU's in Queens & Long Island (where they live)

shared branching is the bomb.. just check into it.

Sheila I switched one direct deposit so far.

Ms. Mini ducky they gave me a damn headache for the past 48 hours. It is rediculous.

BK Diva the CU is limited in terms of online bill pay, so that is why I am with BOA. I love the online bill pay that they have.
