A year ago my computer started dying. I stretched that bad boy out for a whole year. Well, now the time has come. It is on its last leg. I turned it on a few weeks ago and all the icons and documents disappeared. I am now really in the market for a new computer. My limit is $600 max, not a penny more.
I am looking into getting an Acer it is cheap and comes highly recommended.

Make sure you have atleast 2G in it. I bought an Acer with only 512 in it, and it is not enough to run vista, now I am upgrading my memory.
The acer itself is great.
I got a nice Acer laptop a year and a half ago for $600...I'm sure you'll find something good.
Good luck with your computer hunt. My laptop is on its last legs, but I'm trying to wait until next fall...I'm saving up because I want a Mac...expensive, cute, and easy to use...
try checking out the dell or hp clearance outlets.. you can get one with enough memory on there too.. :)
